Obituary of Frances-M. Smith


SMITH Frances M. Smith, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday March 17, 2012. She was born on November 16, 1926 in Headland, Alabama but lived most of her life in Jacksonville, FL. She is survived by one brother Jack JD Hicks (Sue); one son Harold Rusty Olson (Monica); 2 daughters; Janet M. Meerman; Teresa K. Miller (Steven); 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren (3 due this year); and many nieces and nephews. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church West Jacksonville and loved her church family. She had lived the past 10 years at Florida Christian-Sundale Manor Apts. and had many special friends there. She loved the Lord, her Family, gospel music and flowers of all kinds. She was a bookkeeper in her career but her talent/hobbies were oil & acrylic paintings and sewing. The Family visitation to greet friends will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 am in the Chapel, with Dr. Gene Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park of Jacksonville, FL. Memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church West Jacksonville, 514 Chaffee Point Blvd. Suite 5, Jacksonville, FL 32221.
