Frances was born in Quincy, MA the daughter of Lowell McIntosh Baker and Louise Bates Baker. She was raised in Rockville Center, NY, Quincy, MA and Pleasantville, NY. She spent her childhood and teenage summers at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, a place she loved. Frances attended Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA, graduated from Wheaton College, received an MA from Teachers College at Columbia University, taught school in Bronxville, NY and started a new nursery-kindergarten school at the Wyoming Church in Millburn, NJ. She is survived by her sons Martin L. Lyons and his wife Nancy of Boca Grande, FL and Mystic, CT, and John B. Lyons and his wife Leslie and their daughters Katherine and Ann of Mamaroneck, NY, and her step son Neil Miller and his wife Ellen of North Fort Myers, FL her niece Linda Lenhard and her husband Dr. Mark Kritchevsky of San Diego, CA and her nephew Thomas Lenhard and his wife Joan of The Villages, FL and Glendale, NH. She was predeceased by her first husband John M. Lyons, former president of the Chase International Investment Corp., and her second husband, Winton L. Miller, former owner and headmaster of the Dwight School in Manhattan and her sister Elizabeth Baker Lenhard and her husband Robert W. Lenhard.She loved raising her family in Larchmont, NY where they spent many happy years and enjoyed summer time activities focused on boating on Long Island Sound. She was an active member and deacon in the Larchmont Avenue Church before moving to North Fort Myers in 1981 and became a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, a church which she greatly enjoyed attending. She was an avid bridge player and voracious reader. She was proud of her New England heritage and traced her lineage back to an ancestor who immigrated to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1635 and she had a great grandfather who died in the Civil War. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Gulf Coast Village, 1333 Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral, FL.
