Frances Jean Smith Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Canandaigua - Frances Jean Smith, of East Lake Road, passed away Feb. 1, 2009 at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, surrounded by her family. Jean was born in Clifton Springs and attended schools there. She graduated from Rochester General Hospital with a nursing degree and worked as a registered nurse at Canandaigua VA Medical Center. Making a career change, she worked as a respected accountant and office manager in Canandaigua for many years. Jean was a lifelong resident of Canandaigua and a longtime member of St. Mary's Church. She loved her time at the lake with family and friends. Jean also enjoyed going to Sarasota, Fla. in the winter. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene in 1995. Jean is survived by her sons, William (Sharon) Smith and David (Celeste) Smith; grandchildren, David, Tami, Jeff and Kevin; and seven great-grandchildren. At her request, there will be no calling hours. Services will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery in Clifton Springs at a later date.
