Born in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Walter Dewitt and Bessie Barnett Hines. She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church. Surviving include one daughter, Patricia Hill (Brooks) of Columbus, NC; one sister, Marion Ritchie of Columbus, NC; two brothers, Hugh Hines of Montgomery, AL and Billy Hines of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Larry Hill (Tracey) and Donald Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Ansley and Gaines Hill. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
