Frances Gresham Smith, 86, formerly of 311 W. Earle St., died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at National Health Care in Anderson. Born in Greenville County, she was the widow of James D. Smith and the daughter of the late James J. and Seppie Keith Gresham. She retired from Meyers-Arnold Department Store after more than 20 years as a buyer. Mrs. Smith was a member of Northside United Methodist Church. Surviving are her son, James G. Smith of Anderson; two granddaughters, Elinor Ann Keeton and Mellonee Dixon Brown. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Northside United Methodist Church, 435 Summit Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. The family is at their respective homes.
