Frances Goforth Carter, 71, widow of Rufus Marion Carter, formerly of 3264 Pacolet Highway, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002. Born in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Kansas and Lelia Mathis Goforth. Survivors: A son, Richard Carter, of Gaffney; a sister, Ruby G. Baker, of Gaffney; a brother, H.D. Goforth, of Louisville, Ga.; and two grandchildren. Visitation: 6 to 8 tonight at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home. Service: 4 p.m. Friday at Goucher Baptist Church. Burial: Church cemetery.
