Fran Parsons, 79 Frances "Fran" Elizabeth Parsons (nee Gibson), died at Clinton Public Hospital on March 20, 2006 in her 80th year. She was born on Oct. 8, 1926. She was the daughter of George and Mary (nee Richards) Gibson and the step-daughter of Myrtle Gibson. Fran was wife and partner of George Parsons of Benmiller, Ontario. She owned and operated a knitted clothing and cottage industry in Goderich for many years. She was big sister to Doug and Theresa of Toronto, Melville "Pete" and Marg of Prescott, Bill and Libby of North Bay and mother of Doug and Margo of Renfrew, Andrew and Barb of Bancroft and Leslie and Skip Staples of North Carolina. She was Granny Fran to Camie, Katie, Alison, Alex and T.C., and great-grandmom to Findlay and Grace. She was also aunt to many nieces and nephews in North America and a friend to many in Goderich, Renfrew and Toronto. As per Fran's wishes, there was no funeral home visitation. A memorial service was held at North Street United Church in Goderich on Friday, March 24.
