Frances Elizabeth Adams, 95 FALMOUTH -- Frances E. Adams passed away on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, in Falmouth. Frances was born on Oct. 17, 1916, in South Portland, the daughter of Wilbert Barker and Jennie Mae (Smith) Barker. She was educated in South Portland schools graduating for South Portland High School in 1935. On March 12, 1936, she married the love of her life Alfred W. Adams. Together they raised three children. During WWII she worked in Canning factories packing sardines. Later in life she also worked at Pratt Abbot. She was very adept at handiwork making Christmas Wreaths and other ornaments. Frances worked as a manufacturer of books for five years. She loved cooking delicious meals and homemade baked goods. Frances enjoyed creating colorful flower beds and vegetable gardens and could sew and quilt beautiful Afghans. Frances was predeceased by her husband, Alfred W. Adams in 1998; and two sisters, Marion and Roberta. Survivors include her children, Ronald E. Adams of South Portland, Alfred Adams of Palm Bay, Fla., and Wayne Adams of West Buxton; eight grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. A period of visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Portland.
