Frances Bishop Mitchell, 82, of 582 E. Main St., wife of Thomas W. Mitchell Sr., died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Laurens County Hospital. Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Ben T. and Mamie Taylor Bishop. She was a homemaker and was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary and Senior Options. Surviving are her husband, Thomas W. Mitchell Sr., of the home; one son, Thomas W. Mitchell Jr., of Summerville; two brothers, Ben T. Bishop Jr., of Mauldin, and Samuel Bishop, of Laurens; and two grandchildren, Thomas W. Mitchell III and Paul Gray Mitchell. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, in Kennedy Mortuary Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Billy Ray Osborne, with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes, and will receive friends at Kennedy Mortuary today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Kennedy Mortuary, Laurens.
