Forrest Eugene Moore was born October 18, 1915, in Higbee, Mo. He went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2005. His parents, Charles B. and Elizabeth Moore, and his wife, Thelma L. Moore, preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Moore, and Terry and Paula Moore, all of Nixa one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Wally Filip, Hampstead, N.H. seven grandchildren five great-grandchildren and one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Vera Lee Moore, Dublin, Ohio. Gene worked for McDonnell Aircraft Company in St. Louis for 35 years, retiring in 1977. He was active in the Sunday School work of several Missouri and New Mexico Baptist churches in Ferguson, Wright City, Alamogordo, Jefferson City, and Hopedale Baptist Church for more than 60 years. For the last eight years he volunteered at the Baptist Home in Ozark. He helped the residents in many ways and they helped him in just as many ways. He became a resident at the Baptist Home in Ozark in April 2005. Gene was physically and spiritually strong. He loved to garden and always had a vegetable garden until this year. He was ready to help and visit anyone in his church that needed assistance. As a volunteer, he led an exercise group and the Sonshine Club at the Baptist Home for eight years. Memories of Gene will always be associated with his living faith. His love, devotion, and commitment to his Savior Jesus Christ were evident by his service throughout his life and during his last few weeks. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. The funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, August 18, in Hopedale Baptist Church, Ozark, with Rev. Terry Kendrick officiating.
