Obituary of Floyd Whitaker

Floyd Whitaker of Enterprise, AL passed away Friday, October 14, in Enterprise. He was 84. Floyd was one of eleven children born to J. J. and Bannion Whitaker. He was retired from the U. S. Army as a SGT after 22 years of service and retired from the USDA as a Food Inspector.He is preceded in death by a son, Gary Joseph Whitaker.Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Talton (Robert); son and daughter-in-law, Jeff Whitaker (Lisa) all of Enterprise, AL; five grandchildren, Krystle Weems (Chris) Enterprise; Robert Talton, Rehobeth, Tori Whitaker, Tucker Whitaker and Mia Whitaker all of Enterprise; two great-grandchildren, Raedyn and Harlynn Weems; two sisters, Mattie Lou Moore (Hubert) Bonifay; Laverne Williams (Devon) Valparaiso.Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, October 16, 1 at Red Hill United Methodist Church, Bonifay, with the Rev. Sean Rezek officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
