Florence Shelnut Waddell, 73, widow of James Perry "Buddy" Waddell, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at the home of her daughter. She attended Bob Jones University. Survivors include a daughter, Judy W. Edwards, of Spartanburg; a granddaughter, Bailey Marie Edwards; and a grandson, Matthew Wood Edwards. She was predeceased by a brother, Crawford Shelnut. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight, Jan. 4, 2003, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at Southside Baptist Church. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Spanish Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 316 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. The family is at the home of her daughter: 545 E. Abbington Way, Spartanburg.
