McGEE, Florence L. Mrs. Florence L. McGee of Roswell, GA, formerly of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY joined our God in Heaven peacefully on July 19, 2014. Florence was born on January 1, 1929 to Rose (Richter) and Thomas A. McMinn in Yonkers, NY, and she was married in Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers in 1949 to John F. McGee, who predeceased her in 2004. She was employed by John E. Andrus Memorial Home in Hastings-on-Hudson for 26 years in the accounting department. Florence moved to Roswell, Georgia in 1999 to be with her children and grandchildren, and stayed active in retirement by volunteering at North Fulton Hospital and the Roswell Ramblers Senior Center. She is survived by her children Thomas McGee of Austin, TX, James McGee and his wife Stacey, Patricia Jarvis and her husband George, and Catherine McGee all of Roswell. Florence adored her six grandchildren, Catherine Jarvis and fiancé Stephen Smith of Athens, GA, Gregory Jarvis and his wife Alyson, James S. McGee, Matthew McGee, John S. McGee and Caitlin Dunston, all of Roswell. Florence is also survived by her brothers Tom (Kay) McMinn of Northridge, CA and Alexander (Kathleen) McMinn of Woodbury, CT, and sister Dorothy (Fred) Houston of Pleasanton, CA. She was predeceased by her son John A. McGee and his wife Maleese of Austin, TX, brother Vincent (Lucille) McMinn of Clifton Park, NY and Uncle Fr. Roy Richter of Yonkers, NY. A funeral service will be held at Northside Chapel on Tuesday, July 22 at 10 AM. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 21, 2014, 7 PM to 9 PM at the funeral home.
