MORIARTY Flora Moriarty, age 80, of Nichols Avenue, Stratford, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the devoted wife of 56 years of Francis J. Moriarty. Flora was born in Derby on August 6, 1927, daughter of the late Juan and Viola (DeLaurentis) Ballester, and she lived with her husband in Stratford for close to 50 years. She worked as a Deli Manager for Grand Union for 10 years before retiring in her early fifties. She was very active with the Bridgeport Hospital Heart Beats, a program she served as past president of for two years, was former president and a member of the Our Lady of Grace Travel Club, and belonged to the Baldwin Center in Stratford. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is the beloved mother of Frank Moriarty and his wife Caroline of Hilton Head Island, SC, and Kathleen Christy and her husband Allen of Shelton. She is also survived by three cherished grandchildren, Charles Christy III, Michele Beaule` and her husband Jean-Francois, and Kim Christy, and five loving great-grandchildren, Jacqueline, Madeline, Evelyne, Wayne, and Samantha. Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Wednesday (TODAY) from 4 to 7 p.m.. On Thursday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Shelton.
