(Shandelmayer) Pettitt January 25, 2007 Flora Jean (Shandelmayer) Pettitt, 76, of North Canton, Ohio, formerly of Syracuse, died Thursday, January 25, 2007, in Aultman Hospital in Canton. The daughter of the late George and Flora Mae (Lindo) Shandelmayer, she was born in Oswego, January 28, 1930. She was a member of Fairmount Community Church and the Fairmount Fire Department Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace R. Pettitt, in 1997. She is survived by her son, Richard Pettitt of Kiowa, CO; her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Matthew Mercer of North Canton, OH, and Nancy Pettitt and Michael Callahan of Willimantic, CT; and six grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Hazel Edinger of Syracuse, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2007, in Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee St., Syracuse. Interment will be in Belle Isle Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fairmount Fire Department or to Fairmount Community Church.
