Family-Placed ObituaryANNA MARIE PETRONE MCGRORY (nee Flanagan) Age 85 of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away Tuesday June 23, 2009 at her residence. "Marie" or "Sissy" as she was known to all her family and friends was born and resided in Newark, NJ until 1963. She then lived in Maplewood from 1963 to 1972. In 1972, she moved to Sea Girt where she lived until 1982 when she moved to West Palm Beach, FL. Marie was the wife of the late Peter Petrone, MD who passed away in 1960 at the age of 43. She was very active in the Columbus Hospital Women's Auxiliary, Newark, along with the other doctor's wives. Marie was an avid Boston Celtic's and Horse Racing fan. She had worked as a Clerk at Freehold Raceway from 1972 until moving to West Palm Beach, FL. Since relocating to Florida, Marie had worked in the Pro Shop at West Palm Beach Country Club. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Durr Flanagan; she was predeceased by her first husband Peter Petrone, MD, her second husband Norman McGrory in 1980, her son Daniel Petrone in 1954 and her grandson John Petrone in 1988. Surviving are her sons Peter Petrone of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, Paul Petrone of Barnegat, NJ and Dave Petrone and his wife Debbie of Royal Palm Beach, FL; her stepson John McGrory and his wife Valerie of Hackettstown, NJ, her three sisters Eleanor O'Brien of Florham Park, NJ, Betty Voss of Marlton, NJ and Jane Gebert of New Providence, NJ, her sister-in-law Sophie Petrone of Tinton Falls, NJ, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many niece's and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Catharine's RC Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, NJ 07762.
