Frederick-J. Michaud, born in 1953, spouse of Norma Doody, son of Albert-Michaud and Bertha, father of Jesse, Grace and Garin, died on April 13, 2012 at 59 years old.
CARIBOU - Frederick "Fred" J. Michaud, 59, went home to be with the Lord April 13, 2012, in Presque Isle, with his family by his side after a very lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born March 19, 1953, in Caribou, the son of the late Albert Michaud and Bertha (Bellefleur) Michaud. Fred worked for Limestone School Department from 1977 to 1995, and then Caribou School Department from 1995 until his retirement in 2008. Fred was known to many as a co-worker, a boss, a competitor on the racetrack and definitely a true friend. He shared his passion for racecars and motorcycles with his son, Jesse. Fred was an avid golfer, a member of Limestone Country Club, and enjoyed the many hours spent on the greens with dear friends and family. His other favorite pastime was watching the Boston Red Sox, NASCAR, as well as the Bruins. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Norma (Doody) Michaud; his son, Jesse Michaud and his fiancee, Stacy Robey, of Limestone; a stepdaughter, Bobbi Jo Hanley, whom he thought of as his own daughter, and her husband, Greg Hanley, along with their children, Grace and Garin Hanley, of Caribou; two sisters, Rose Michaud of Presque Isle and Anne Stinchfield and her husband, John, of Phillips; a sister-in-law, Gloria Duncan and her husband, Jason, of Caribou; father-in-law, George Doody of Caribou; many special nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his mother and father; brother, Patrick Michaud; a sister, Theresa Willockx; and his mother-in-law, Helen Doody. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Caribou Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Mark Carter officiating. A time of refreshments and fellowship will take place after the funeral services.
