Frances Mauro of Yonkers died on Friday, January 4, at age 91. Born on August 29, 1910 to Leonard and Sira (Torretto) Locascio in NYC where she was raised and educated. Mrs. Mauro worked as a seamstress for over 60 years for various companies with her (Hands of Gold). On April 29, 1950 she married Steven Mauro in Miami, FL, he died in 1983. Mrs. Mauro is survived by her son Joseph D'Amaro of Holland and her daughter Mary Brish of Yonkers. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and her two brothers, Frank Locascio of Franklin Square, LI and Michael Locascio Elmont, LI. She was predeceased by her daughter Nancy Naccarato, her brother Salvatore Locascio and three sisters, Gertrude, Anna, and Lenorna. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, on Tuesday only from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Bartholomew's Church on Wednesday, January 9 at 10 am.
