Johnson, 66, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Palm Terrace Good Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland due to heart failure. Mr. Johnson was born November 10, 1941 in Mitchell, Georgia to Edward and Lizzie Johnson. He was a resident of Polk county for over 30 years coming from Palm Coast, FL. He was a member of the Auburndale Life Church, member of the Winter Haven American Legion and retired from APAC Construction. He was also a United States Army veteran. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Jean A. Johnson and sister, Margaret Wilcher. Everett is survived by his loving family, his wife of 7 years, Garnetta Johnson of Lake Alfred, FL; 2 sons, Steve Johnson of Lake Wales, FL and Larue (Jessica) Johnson of Bartow, FL; 1 daughter, Rebecca (Mike) Hammons of Haines City, FL; 1 step daughter, Gloria Jean (Jay) Dimaline of San Antonio, TX; 2 brothers, Glen Johnson of Lake Alfred, FL and Gene Johnson of Glasscock county, GA; 4 sisters, Geneva (Don) Kitchens of Glasscock county, GA, Ann (E.J.) Price of Glasscock county, GA, Eunice (Lamar) Wilcher of Glasscock county, GA and Ollie Mae (Teddy) Cooper of Glasscock county, GA and 7 grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Tyler, Christian, Olivia, Jonathan & Joseph. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the Kersey Funeral Home with interment to follow at South Prong Cemetery in Sanderson, FL.
