LINDEN Evelyn Whitcomb Pierce, age 82, of Linden, died May 19, 2006 at home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Linden Memorial Park with Paul Whitcomb and Rev. W.J. Cannon officiating and O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Linden directing. Visitation will be today from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.Mrs. Pierce was born on September 1, 1923 in Morvin, Ala. She was a homemaker and a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church in Linden. She was a devout Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan and was a season ticket holder for approximately 50 years through the 2004 season. She also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and New York Yankees baseball teams.Survivors include her husband, James D. Pierce of Linden; daughter, Cheryl P. (Charles) Moore of Linden; brothers, Jack (Lee) Whitcomb of Linden and O.B. (Ruby) Whitcomb of York; sister-in-law, Sadie Merle Whitcomb of Linden; grandchildren, Cindi (Dennis) Breckenridge and Christopher (Leah) Moore, all of Linden; great-grandchildren, Marti Lynn Breckenridge, Hutson Moore Breckenridge, and Jordyn Elizabeth Moore, all of Linden.
