MERIDEN - Evelyn Potts, 59, died on Friday, April 24, 2009, at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Paterson, N.J. on Aug. 16, 1949, she was the daughter of Annie B. Potts and Howard Watson. She had resided in Meriden for the past 35 years. Ms. Potts was employed as a CNA for over 30 years. She was a member of the Mount Hebron Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Tomeakca Stubbs; three sons, Kewon, Kareem and Bryant Potts; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters; five brothers; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister; two brothers; and two grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Tuesday, April 28, at 1 p.m. at Mount Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Willie J. Young officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private.
