EVELYN MARIE BRUNEAU (nee Johnson) July 3, 1938-February 16, 2003 Peacefully, with her family by her side, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother went to heaven at the age of 64. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Caroline and George Johnson; her brothers, Albert, Richard, William, Anthony, Gilbert and Joseph; her sister, Regina and five infant sisters. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband, George; daughter, Susan (John Cox); sons, Ronald and Kenneth; grandchildren, Christopher and Catherine; three brothers, John, Leo and Maxwell; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Evelyn was born in St. Boniface and attended schools in St. Boniface, Winnipeg North and St. Charles Academy. Over the years she was a clerk at Winnipeg General Hospital, Bristol Aircraft and Manitoba Telephone System for 16+ years. She touched so many lives with her kindness and compassion. She was nurturing and loving to anyone who needed her help, especially her family. Evelyn took great pride in doing everything to the best of her ability. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, teaching catechism, organizing charity functions and volunteer committees, genealogy, compiling family history books, calligraphy, spring teas, fall suppers, and Winnipeg Blue Bomber games. Evelyn was surrounded by the love of her family and friends throughout her long, courageous battle with cancer. A big thank-you for the special days shared with all the relatives and friends who visited, gave cards, gifts, flowers, and prayers. God Bless You. Thank you to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Cancer Clinic and Dr. Daenick, Dr. Harlos, and the wonderful staff in the Palliative Care Ward. A most heartfelt thank you to Archbishop Emilius Goulet for his special visit of prayers and blessings. Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22 at St. Alphonsus Church, Munroe Ave., East Kildonan, with a reception to follow. A private family interment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Evelyn's memory can be made to St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6 LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220
