It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Mae Walker, 72, Mobile Avenue, Daytona Beach, announces the passing of their mother. Evelyn passed away at the Horizon HealthCare Center on Monday June 26, 2006. She was born October 29, 1933, in Orange, N.J., to Charles W. and Ann Feitzinger Godrey. She graduated from Millburn High School, New Jersey, in 1951. On March 25, 1961, she married Philip Walker and spent the next 40 years loving him until his passing in 2001. While still living in New Jersey, she enjoyed summer vacations at the seashore in Florida with her family. Evelyn was a member of The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 140 in New Jersey for 20 years. She also enjoyed "hook rugging." Evelyn is survived by three sons, Philip Walker, Daytona Beach, John (Terri) Walker, Union, N.J., and James Walker, Daytona Beach; daughter, Dawn (Eddie) Evans, Milford, Conn.; two brothers, Charlie (Bonnie) Godfrey, Largo, and William Godfrey, Inverness; and sister, Dorothy (Phil) Erny, also of Inverness. She also has six grandchildren. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
