Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was born January 21, 1927, in Savannah, Missouri, the daughter of Lloyd and Leita (Osborn) Reece. On January 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to Franklin Marr, Jr. in Mt. Vernon.Evelyn was a 1944 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and attended Draughon's Business College in Springfield. She retired as a bookkeeper for Ozark Electric Cooperative in 1983 where she served for 31 years. Evelyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon where she received Christ and was baptized in 1967. She sang in the church choir, helped in the church library, but most of all she loved helping in the church nursery. After retiring she did the bookkeeping for the John Taylor Senior Center for many years. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 66 years, Franklin; one son, Dennis Marr and his wife, Dorothy; three grandchildren, Amy Riley and her husband, Don, Emily Beshears and her husband, Nick, and Aaron Marr all of Republic, Missouri; eight great grandchildren, Allison, Adrienne, Nathan, and Gretchen Riley, Nicholas and Noah Beshears, Amia and Keira Marr; one sister, Betty Hailey of Lawrence, Kansas; one sister-in-law, Pattie Reece of Harrisonville, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Cheryle Bisoux; one son, Dale Marr; one sister, Marjorie Wynne and her husband, Roy; three brothers, Wayne Reece, Harold Reece and his wife, Neoma, and Glenn Reece, and one brother-in-law, Bob Hailey.A funeral service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, in the First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, with burial in the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the church.
