Evelyn I. Goodwinof BinghamtonEvelyn I. Goodwin of Binghamton, N.Y., died on Tuesday, January 18, after a long illness. She was a retiree of the Binghamton Social Service Dept. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Binghamton. She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Catherine Goodwin, Tully, William Goodwin, Afton, Joseph and Colleen Goodwin, Douglasville, Ga., James and Susan Goodwin, Silver Springs, Md., Daniel and Leslie Goodwin, Leesburg, Va.; ten grandchildren; and a brother, William Goerss, Fort Wayne, Ind. She was predeceased by her son, Gregory Goodwin in 1976. Evelyn was a kind, compassionate, loving and generous mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Afton on Saturday, January 22, at 11 a.m. with Father Dwyer officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Glenwood Cemetery in Afton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Dorothy Memorial Homes of Afton and Bainbridge, N.Y.
