Obituary of Evelyn-Darling Williams


Evelyn Darling WILLIAMS of West Knoxville, Tenn.Evelyn Darling Williams, 91, of West Knoxville, formerly of Binghamton, died Sunday, December 16, 2001 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of West Hills Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Binghamton State Hospital School of Nursing, Binghamton and Baptist Bible Seminary, Johnson City. She was a retired Registered Nurse, having worked for ft. Sanders Hospital and Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mabelle Nixon; brothers, Robert Nixon Darling and William Vincent Darling. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Clarence Vanderwiele; grandchildren, Jan Evelyn Maxey, Jason Elliot Maxey, Jonathan Scott Maxey, Julianne Elizabeth Maxey, all of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Rhodah Darling, Newark Valley, N.Y.; and three nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. John E. Pennington officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Edgewood Cemetery for a 2 p.m. interment service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to West Hills Baptist Church Organ Fund, 409 North Winston Rd., Knoxville, Tenn. 37909. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5 to 7 p.m. at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
