Obituary of Evelyn Carter

BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mrs. Evelyn W. Carter, 85, wife of the late George I. Carter, entered into rest on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014. Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, she as a daughter of the late Isaac Robert and Fannie Key Widener. She retired from Doctor s Hospital. Mrs. Carter was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing. In addition to her husband and parents, family members include a son, Leon T. (Hazel B.) Ready, Beech Island, SC; siblings, Louise Hutto, Aiken, SC, the late Helen Broome, the late Hazel Renfroe, the late Delores Dick and the late Robert Widener, Jr., four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 5th, 2014, at 2 o clock at Amazing Grace Baptist Church, Beech Island, SC, with Pastor David Hixon & Pastor Manuel Gunter officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC.
