Obituary of Evelyn-Alda Carter


Evelyn Alda McCormick SALISBURY, NB - Evelyn McCormick of Salisbury, formerly of Synton, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2004 at The Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. Born on Gowland Mountain, Albert Co., on February 5, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Mrs. Viola Carter Wilson, Elgin. She resided mostly with her grandparents, Ralph and Jane Carter, Elgin. She was a member of Five Points Baptist Church, Salisbury Lioness Club, Salisbury Golden Age Club, Monday Morning Merry Makers and previously served as an active volunteer with Saint John Ambulance for many years. She is survived by daughters, Betty O'Neill of Synton, Joan Lutes (Don) of Moncton, Darlene Cummins (Kirk) of Petitcodiac; son-in-law, Bert Nicol of Moncton. Also survived by grandchildren, David, Dwight and Dwayne Mann, Michael Lutes and Susan Porter, Mark, Adam and Aaron Nicol, Brett, Ashley and Scott Cummins; eight great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Jeremy, Sheldon, Katlyn, Kelsey, Kayla, Megan, Dru; four great-great-grandchildren, Demetri, Mackenzie, Colin, Isaiah. Also survived by sister-in-law, Pat Wilson; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Harvey (1998); daughter, Judy Nicol (1993); sons-in-law, Albert Mann (1982) and Larry O'Neill (2004); brother, Raymond Wilson (1990); sister, Norma Colpitts (1997). The family will receive relatives and friends at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Monday, August 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Shawn Kehoe officiating, assisted by Rev. Robert Steeves. Reception to follow. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. If so desired, memorial donations to Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
