Charette, Evelyn A. CLIFTON PARK Evelyn A. Nadeau Charette, 90, of Clifton Park died on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany embraced by her loving family. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Laura Lussier Nadeau, and beloved wife of 70 wonderful years to Raymond A. Charette of Clifton Park. Evelyn was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Cohoes High School and attended Troy Business College. She was employed with General Electric in Schenectady for seven years prior to raising her family. Evelyn was dedicated to her family and home. She treasured her family's abundant love; they were the focus of her life. Evelyn had a true passion of making a difference; she achieved this through volunteering at the Little Sister of the Poor, with Hospice of Schenectady and delivering meals on wheels. Evelyn made and gave away over 10,000 "kindness bookmarks." These were bookmarks shaped like a pair of mittens. Not only have the bookmarks been donated locally, they have traveled to Egypt, Africa, England, Mexico and Ukraine. To quote Evelyn, "Love God, love one another, and make a difference." In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted daughters, Susan M. (Tom) Beaudoin of Saratoga Springs, Janet M. Stein of Saranac Lake, Carol M. (Tom) Vandish of Ballston Spa and Nancy M. (Michael) Hodgkinson of Clifton Park; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, on Friday, October 17, 2014, at 8:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Mary's Catholic Church of Crescent, 86 Church Hill Road, Waterford on Friday 9 a.m. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Those wishing to remember Evelyn in a special way may make contributions in her memory to the Community Hospice of Saratoga County, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
