Eva Mae Berry Holmes, 84, of Watson Street, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at University Hospital in Augusta. Surviving are a son, Hamp E. Holmes Jr., of Trenton; a daughter, Dollie Hazel Vines, of North Augusta; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Sydel Grice, of Johnston; and a brother, Lester Berry, of Trenton. She was predeceased by her husband, Hamp E. Holmes Sr. Visitation: 6 to 8 tonight at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. Service: 3 p.m. Sunday at Edgefield First Baptist Church, with Dr. Tony Hopkins and the Rev. Bill Vines officiating. Burial: Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. The family is at the home of Hamp E. Holmes Jr., 50 Marshplace Road, Trenton.
