Obituary of Eva McKenzie


MCKENZIE _Eva Mary (nee Blanchard) died peacefully on Monday, March 22, 2004 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Victoria, BC. She was predeceased by Elmer, her husband of 56 years and their daughter, Helen. Eva was born on April 15, 1915 in Spinney Hill, Saskatchewan where she grew up and attended school. She moved to Biggar, SK where she met and married Elmer. Eva and Elmer moved to Saskatoon and later to Victoria, BC. Eva was a life member and Past Matron of Acacia Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Saskatchewan. She was associated with Henry Birks and Sons both in Saskatoon and Victoria. She is survived by her daughters, June Aichele of Calgary and Marilyn McKenzie of Victoria; her son, Robert McKenzie of Victoria; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, two brothers and their families. The family wish to thank all the staff of Mount St. Mary's Hospital for their good care and kind attention. A member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Victoria, the Service of Remembrance will be conducted by Reverend Dr. A.W. Currie from McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Friday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Family Centre. Flowers are gratefully declined; tributes, if desired, may be made to the Victoria Public Library, Talking Books Program. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.
