Eva M. Miller, 83PORTLAND - Eva M. Miller, 83, of Lane Avenue, died peacefully at her home on Sept. 9, 2005 with her family by her side.She was born in Concord, Vt., the daughter of Harvey and May Dodge Burlock. She was employed at New England Telephone Co. in Bethlehem, N.H., for several years. She later worked for 19 years at the Bethlehem School Dept. as a secretary.She enjoyed going for rides along the coast of Maine, playing conasta with her friends at the Lane House in New Hampshire, and sitting by the garden watching birds build their nests.She was predeceased by her husband, Elwyn Miller; two brothers, Merlin and Bernard Burlock; and a sister, Helen Santy.Surviving are four sons, Lawrence and his wife Dixie of Guilford, N.H., Lester and his wife Diane of Portland, Dennis and his wife Bonnie of Crestview, Fla., and Dale and his wife Linda of Daytona, Fla.; two brothers, Ralph Burlock of Florida, and Harvey Burlock and his wife Thelma of Bethlehem, N.H.; a sister, Bernice and her husband Brad Doane of Kennebunk; a sister in law, Helen Burlock of Vermont; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.A service will be held at the Durrell United Methodist Church on Main Street in Bethlehem, N.H. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Kidney foundation of your state, or to:Hospice of Southern Maine 901 Washington Ave. Portland, Maine 04103 Lester and Diane would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at Hospice of Southern Maine for their support and loving care, and a special thanks to Dick Clark, Dr. Degrinney, and all from Engine 9 firestation.Arrangements are by Independent Death Care of Maine.
