2014 Eva Green, 68, died at her residence in Waterville on Jan. 25, 2014. Born of Bjorn and Margareta Holmer in Motala, Sweden, Eva was the eldest of three daughters. She grew up in the northern town of Ostersund, Sweden, and there developed a passion for skiing that continued throughout her life. While working as a nurse in Nykoping, Sweden, she met and later married Kenneth W. Green, of Sydney, Australia. She and Kenneth began their life together in Sweden, including what would become an enduring love of sailing. She also had her first child, Anders, there before moving to Boston and then shortly after to Waterville where she had two more children, Henrik and Max. Eva's many interests included language: She was fluent or proficient in five languages, displayed a quick wit and enjoyed trading jokes. She enjoyed gardening (when deer or groundhogs were absent) and often used her own vegetables to cook gourmet cuisine, another of her passions. She was an avid tennis player, accomplished seamstress and proud citizen. Eva is survived by her sisters, Kristina and Helena; her sons, Anders, Henrik and Max; her grandchildren, Astrid, Margaret and Diego; and the family dog, Alex. In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that donations be made to Paws and Claws of Winslow.
