Obituary of Eva-Charlotte Lee


Eva Charlotte (Hamilton) Lee died November 9, 2007. She was born October 22, 1917, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Elmer Milton and Nellie Myrtie Jane (Miller) Hamilton. She was the fifth child of seven born to this union and was raised in Thayer, Missouri. Her family moved to Wheaton, Missouri, in 1933. She was united in marriage to Clyde Mitchell Lee on June 19, 1936. To this union was born one child, Kathryn Mary. Eva was preceded in death by her husband Clyde; her mother and father, Elmer and Nellie; four bothers, Laddie, John Milton, Henry and Carlie Hamilton; two sisters, Rachel Robb and Mary Neary; and a grandson, Richard Eugene Hailey II. Eva is survived by her daughter Kathryn and son-in-law Richard Hailey, Republic; two grandchildren, Jane Noel and husband Mark Perkin, and Jonathan Hailey, all of Springfield; three great-granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn, Laura Ann and Jessica Lauren; two great-grandsons, Ryan Mitchell and Andrew Noel; two great-great-granddaughters, Jazlyn Mackenzie and Abigail Shae; a daughter-in-law, Pam Hailey, Marionville; a sister-in-law, Rosalie Hamilton, Ava; and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. Eva gave her heart to Jesus Christ at age 20 and attended Ridgely Baptist Church most of her adult life. She played the piano, was a nurse, worked for the war effort in California during World War II and was an example of servant hood. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Republic at the time of her death. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2007, in Calvary Baptist Church, Republic, with Rev. Denny Marr officiating, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Burial will be in Chitwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday in the church.
