Eula Mae Mitchell, 87 of Graceville passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at her residence following a brief illness. Ms. Eula Mae was a native of Texas, joining the U.S. Coast Guard after high school, where she met the love of her life, Edgar Deaver Mitchell, whom she married in 1945. In 1951 together they opened Graceville's first funeral home, Mitchell Funeral Home, where they worked together until the passing of Mr. Mitchell in 1972.Proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Edgar Deaver "E.D." Mitchell; son, Edgar Deaver "Eddie" Mitchell, Jr., and granddaughter Kasi Caroline Mitchell.Survived by children, Lee Mitchell(Cindy), Bonifay, Gail Corbitt(Wayne), Graceville; six grandchildren, Christy Thomann(Paul), Alpharetta, Ga., James Corbitt(Tyisha), Slocomb, Ala., Katie Mitchell, Blake Mitchell(Aleesta), Hayes Griffin, Evan Griffin, Bonifay and five grandchildren, Savannah, Gracyn, Brady, Paisley and Cole.Funeral service was held at 3 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernie Gray officiating. Burial followed in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville. Family received friends at the funeral home at 2 p.m. until time of service.
