Etta Mae Davis, age 81 of Pedricktown, New Jersey passed away on March 17, 2010 at the home of her daughter Vicki, surrounded by her family. Etta was born in Selbyville, Delaware, and moved to New Jersey in 2005 after the death of her husband of 60 years Kenneth Alfred Davis. She is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Kennedy and her husband Dennis (D.D.) Kennedy, and Dawn August and her husband Christopher of Berlin, Maryland. She has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Stephanie (Kennedy) Smith and her husband Stephen, and their children Stephen and Alaina Smith of Pedricktown. B Shawn Kennedy and his wife Laurel, and their children Sophie and Liam of Hockessin, Delaware. Michael S. Kennedy and is daughter Madison of Pedricktown, New Jersey. A grandson Joshua August and wife Mahalea and their son Aaron of California. A granddaughter Kyle August of Las Vegas, Nevada. Mom was a member of the Hudson United Methodist Church of Pedricktown and also a member of Red Hat Society. She will long be remembered for her love of people. She inspired many. In 1969, she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Camden County College. This, she said, was her proudest moment. She suffered from emphysema and heart disease and fought long and hard to stay with her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pedricktown First Aid Squad, Straughn Mill Road, Pedricktown, New Jersey 08067. A celebration of her life will be held on April 3, 2010, in Berlin, Maryland.
