Obituary of Ethel-Margaret Dixon


December 2, 2003 Ethel Margaret Dixon, 91, of the Greenpoint Senior Living Center, Liverpool, NY, died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, after a brief illness. Born on December 12, 1911, on a farm in Louisville, NY, she was a daughter of the late William and Amy (Cobane) Sutton. A resident of Liverpool for the past 10 years, she previously lived at Middletown, Brooklyn and Massena, NY. She graduated from Massena High School in 1930. She later graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Brooklyn State Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. She loved cards, board games, reading, birds and animals, especially cats, wild flowers, holistic medicines, and cookies! She was preceded in death by her husband John F. Dixon in May 1996, and sisters Lila, Dorothy and Helen. Surviving are nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be held. Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Township, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. George's Episcopal Church, 408 E. Main St., Nanticoke, PA 18634. Arrangements are by Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, PA.
