Ethel H. Smith, 85, Port Charlotte, died July 24, 2002. She was born in Cora, Wyo., and was a cook on a cattle ranch for years before moving to Kentucky and then to Port Charlotte in the late 1950s. She was a member of the Port Charlotte Country Club. She was a Mormon. Survivors include brother Tom Holt of California; three grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Kays Ponger/Royal Palm Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Winchester Cemetery in Winchester, Ky.
