FOSTER _ Ethel Jean (nee Rolston) February 15, 1914 - November 10, 2008 Ethel died peacefully at Buchanan Lodge, New Westminster. She was the last of her generation for our family. Born and raised in Vancouver, she was the youngest child of Tilly and Fred Rolston. Predeceased by her parents and siblings Robert and Audrey, and her husband Norman in 1976. She is survived by her daughter Janet (Maple Ridge), and sons Walter (Shirley), Michael (Lyse), Bill (Darlene) of Calgary and Tom (Laura) of New Westminster. She has eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ethel was a graduate of UBC - BScN 1936. Before WWII, she taught nursing in Kamloops, Calgary and Edmonton. She returned to nursing in 1967 teaching at Mount Royal College, Calgary. Ethel and Norm raised their family in High River and Calgary before retiring to Sooke, BC in 1971. As an avid gardener and reader with a wide interest in all things, her strongest wish was that we "Be good to each other". We loved her dearly and will cherish our personal and shared memories. At her request, family and friends will celebrate at a later date.
