Colchester - Esther Marsh Smith, 100, passed away on April 12, 2006, at Liberty Specialty Care, Colchester, where she had been a resident for the past 12 years.She was born June 4, 1905, in Nashua, N.H., the daughter of Charles H. and Alice Cross Marsh.She had worked for five years as a foster grandmother for the TVCCA, which she enjoyed very much.In 1948 she became one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and was currently a member of the Oakdale Congregation.She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ellis T. Smith; one son, Howard O. Smith, of New London; two daughters and their husbands, Alice and Ray Poirier, of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Ann and John Gottier, of Oakdale; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.She was predeceased by four siblings, Melverda, Ralph, Charles and Thelma; two husbands, Alfred H. Smith and John S. Snyder; and one grandson, Daniel S. Gottier.A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
