ESTHER O. EATON COCOA BEACH Esther O. Eaton, born July 20, 1923 passed away Saturday, October 6, 2007. We know a woman of strength and beauty. We have watched her for years. We have learned from her, been cared for by her and have been loved by her in a way that no one else could ever love us. She has been our guide, our protector, our inspiration and our friend. She will always be these things. She will always be in our heart. She is our she-ro. She is our Mother. Esther was the youngest of eight siblings. She was born to William and Rachel and raised on the expansive family farm in Mt. Pleasant Hills, PA. After graduation from High School she fulfilled her dream of becoming a beautician. During her professional career she won several awards for her modern creativity and unique application in hair design. Early in her professional years she met and married her dreamboat Charles V. Eaton. They were happily married for 59 years which can be summed up by saying that they lived a charmed life. Charlie honored Esther in many ways during their marriage but also never failed to name their airplanes, motor yachts and Rvs after her....they were always named theEsther Baby. Together, they enjoyed being with family and friends, travel ing worldwide and sharing the workload in their many businesses and endeav ors. Esthers professional career was re-ignited in 1972 when she and Charlie moved to Cocoa Beach to own and operate the Executive Best Western Motel. In 1976 she obtained her Real Estate License, and later her Real Estate Brokers License. They owned and operated Formula 5 Realtors successfully for 25 years. Esther had many hobbies and interests. Even as a young girl she was always on the cutting edge of fashion. She would scour magazines for the latest in haute couture and since she couldnt afford it she would just sit down and make it. Even after her mar riage she decided she could make her own clothing better and tailor it to her own specific tastes. Her tailoring was impeccable and she fashioned many beautiful three and four piece outfits. Knitting and cro cheting also became passions. Along with her daughter and granddaughters she learned to make beautiful ceramic creations. She also enjoyed searching for antiques, interior decorating, gourmet cooking, bowling, bridge, baseball and the Philadelphia Phillies. She loved her pets and enjoyed raising love birds and cocka tiels. She taught Sunday School at St. Timothys Luther an Church in Fox Chase, PA. She enjoyed gardening and even traveled to Costa Rica to plant trees on the mountain tops. Esthers memberships and affiliations were many. She was a member and served as President with the Lioness Club in Pottstown, PA. She was the Homeroom Moth er....extraordinaire during her childrens school years. Esther was a member and Officer of the Eastern Star in the Philadelphia area for many years. She enjoyed member ship in the Family Motor Coach Association, the Space Coast Orbiters and the Eau Gallie Yacht Club. She was a member of the Cocoa Beach Area Board of Realtors, The Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, The Cocoa Beach Boating Club, The Cocoa Beach Business Improvement Council, and The Cocoa Beach Community Church where she was a founder of the Memorial Garden. Esther was a long time member and also served as President of the Cocoa Beach Womans Club. Esther also was a 30 year member of the Cocoa Beach Garden Club where she held many offices and served two terms as Pres ident totaling five years. Even though Esthers life was busy with volunteerism, her family was always her first priority. She celebrated each and every accomplishment of her family as if it were her own. Our Queen Mother, Esther, will be lovingly missed by her daughter and son-in- law, David and Linda Spain and her son Charlie Eaton. She will be forever loved and remembered by her grand daughters and their families, Jim and Kimberly Severson and great-grandsons Austin, Brenden, Colton and Dylan and also by David and Stephanie Anderson and great-granddaughters, Mackenzie and Isabella. Grandmother will also remain loved and greatly missed by her youngest granddaughter and namesake Maria Esther Eaton. Esther is also survived by her sister, Frances Buchert; niece, Patricia DiRenzio; neph ew, Kenneth Buchert and wife Kathy and nephew, John Buchert and wife Lisa. Cremation has taken place. Burial services were held at the Cocoa Beach Community Church Memorial Garden. I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then some one at my side says: There, she is gone! Gone Where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear the load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: There, she is gone! There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: Here she comes! And that is dying. - Henry Van Dyke In lieu of flowers and in hon or of her love of gardening and service to the Cocoa Beach Garden Club we ask that offer ings, in Esthers name, be made to: The Cocoa Beach Garden Club, P.O.
