Esther Ethel Williams, age 91, of Nixa, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Magnolia Square in Springfield, where she had been a resident for the past three years. She was born May 14, 1914, in Cushing, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Baber) Gooding. On October 20, 1934, she and Raymond L. Williams were united in marriage. Mrs. Williams was a member of Seminole Baptist Temple. She loved her family and spending time with them, especially at the lake. She enjoyed crafts, painting, needlework, and traveling. Her husband, Ray, preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Larry Williams two brothers, Glenn and Kenneth Gooding and two sisters, Florence Gaither and Helen Martin. Survivors include: three sons and their wives, Deane and Barbara Williams, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Don and Mary Williams, Nixa, and Dave and Patsy Williams, Battlefield nine grandchildren, Garry Williams, Dee Anna Williams, Scott Williams, Randy Williams, Jeanie O'Bryant, Janie Howard, Shaun Williams, Ray Wells Jr., and Julie Perciful seven great-grandchildren two sisters, Irma Lee Snowden, Oklahoma City, and Imogene Ramsey, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and a brother, Harold Gooding, West Yellowstone, Montana. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Mel Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Highlandville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Seminole Baptist Temple, 4221 South National Ave., Springfield, MO 65810.
