Homegoing Services for Esmer Elizabeth Livingston Johnson, 83, West Ohio Avenue, Lake Helen, Florida who departed this life August 19, 2009, will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church, 683 West Ohio Avenue, Lake Helen, Pastor Reginald Johnson, officiating. At the family's request, there will be no viewing/visitation. Burial will follow the services at Suber Memorial Gardens, Lake Helen, Florida. Born August 9, 1926 to Ed & Carolina Livingston, the third of four children, all of which have preceded her in death. She attended and graduated from Euclid High, Seminole Business School and Daytona Beach Community College. She retired from the Duvall Home and Brunswick Corporation in 1988. Known to her family and friends as Poochmama, she was a private person who enjoyed family trips and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church for over 70 years and served on several boards and committees. She leaves to cherish her memory: five surviving children, the oldest, James Livingston, preceded her in death and his wife, Janet of Seattle, Washington; Sharon Jackson, Sanford, Florida; William Johnson (Betty), Paula Johnson, Eddie Johnson and Wanda Diaz (Ralph), all of Lake Helen; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one uncle, Eugene McDuffie; a host of nieces and nephews as well as cousins. Best friend and classmate: Johnetta Redmond; special friends, Melvin Thompson, Doris Mack, Leonard Brooks; godson: Antwon Han Williams. A host of other relatves and sorrowing friends.
