Obituary of Ernest Chambers


CHAMBERS, Ernest February 19, 1922 - June 24, 2008 It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Ernest (Ernie) Edward Chambers, Wabamun, Alberta on June 24, 2008 at the age of 86 at the Misericordia Community Hospital, Edmonton. Ernie will be sadly missed by his loving family; wife Marie of Wabamun; son Gordon of Edmonton; daughter Susan Neufeldt (Randy) of Edmonton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings Cameron of Tidehead, NB; Olive (Kees) Stam of Edmonton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Irene Chambers; and sister Isabelle. Ernie served with the RCNVR for five years during WWII. Following Naval discharge he attended college for one year. He worked with Coca Cola in Montreal, Winnipeg, and Regina where he retired after 28 years. He then returned to NB where he was associated with Wandlyn Motor Inn for 16 years. Returning to Alberta to be closer to his family in 1992. During Ernie's life he devoted his time to Boy Scouts, his Church, and many activities in the communities where he lived. Ernie was a loyal and true friend to all the causes he was involved in. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Aiden and St. Hilda Anglican Church, Rexboro, AB (3 Km west of Wabamun on Highway 16). Interment at Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Aiden and St. Hilda Anglican Church (6927 - 91 Avenue, Edmonton, AB) or to the donor's choice of charity.
