PIAZZA Ernest Charles Piazza, age 88 of Milford and previously of Orange for 50 years, beloved husband of Dorothy Tillson Piazza, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born on May 9, 1922 in Export, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Josephine Molin Piazza. Ernest served with pride and honor in the U.S. Navy during World War II in Algiers and Europe. He graduated from Milford High School in 1941 and then graduated from Quinnipiac University and the American International College. Ernest worked at Norden Systems, Division United Technology for 35 years before retiring. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion, and was known for his love of golf. In addition to his wife Dorothy of 60 years, he is survived by his three children, Jeffrey Piazza and his wife, Carrie of Orange, Donna Hartman of Port Charolotte, Fla. and Sharon Thurston and her husband, Bob of Newton, Massachusetts; six beloved grandchildren; and two loving great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford with a Prayer Service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Orange Center Cemetery on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ernest's name to Orange Visiting Nurse Association, 605 Orange Center Road, Number A.
