KINNELON — Services will be held for Erick O. Stone, 64, of this community, who died on Friday, August 5, 2011. Born in Los Angeles, Mr. Stone moved to New Jersey in 1980 and settled in Kinnelon in 1997. He was a police officer in Burlingame, Calif., during the 1970s. Also, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Arrangements are by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Associated Humane Society of New Jersey, 124 Evergreen Ave., Newark, NJ 07114; or to the Kinnelon Animal Shelter, 118 Kinnelon Road, Kinnelon, NJ 07405. Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, the former Frances Curley Ball; his daughters, Ericka, Kristina, and Dawn; his son, Erick; his stepchildren, Susan Uske, Margaret Howell, William Ball, Richard Ball, and Barbara Bryson; and 16 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Karl.
