Emma-Paisley Swenson, born in 1930, spouse of Arthur Swenson, daughter of Giles and Hazel-Williams, mother of Kim, Carmen, N. C, Dana and Michael, died on September 14, 2009 at 79 years old.
Mrs. Emma Paisley Swenson, age 79, of Gainesville passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, following a sudden illness. A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at Lanier Christian Church, 2235 Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville at 3:30 p.m. Pastor David Simpson will officiate. Private interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a second memorial service held at Westbend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albermarle Road, Asheboro, N.C. on Saturday, Sept. 19th at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Swenson was born Emma Jean Overman in Asheboro, N.C. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Williams Overman; her father, Giles Overman; and her first husband, Charles Richard Paisley. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Swenson of Gainesville; her son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Carmen Paisley of Greensboro, N.C.; her daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Michael Kirkpatrick of Buford; her stepdaughter and her husband, Fred and Marty Travillion of Suwanee; grandson, Adam Paisley of Greensboro, N.C.; granddaughter and her husband, Meredeth and Phillip Long of Wilson, N.C.; in addition, her stepgrandchildren, Codi, Kelli, and Alex Kirkpatrick of Buford; also she leaves behind her latest joy, great-grandson, Christopher Montgomery Long; and her brothers, Wayne Overman and Gilbert Overman; and her sister, Louise Craven. No one who ever met or spoke with Emma was untouched by her brilliant blue eyes, her larger than life smile, her zest for life, and her sincere love for all. There were no strangers in Emma's world. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes any donations be made on her behalf to The Medical Center Foundation, Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Fund, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 115, Gainesville GA 30501-2567.
