Emma Marie Campbell, age 89, of West Frankfort, departed this life Monday, July 21, 2008, at her home. She was born May 3, 1919, in West Frankfort, the daughter of James and Mary (Nicci) Golio. She married Ural Campbell in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on November 21, 1940. He preceded her in death. Emma was a longtime member of First Christian Church, having taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a longtime volunteer for the Union Hospital Auxillary, and was active in the Girl Scouts. Emma is survived by: Daughter: Claudia Krump and husband Fred of DuQuoin, Il.; Brother: Pete Golio of West Frankfort; nephews: Jack Golio and Wife Lois, James Peter Golio and wife Diane, John Michael Golio and wife Janet, Richard Mark Golio and wife Kathy She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Mike and Matt. Funeral serv ices will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2008, at First Christian Church with Rev. Gene Fox officiating. Interment will be in Denning Cemetery. Friends of Emma Campbell may call at Varis-Stone Funeral Home 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Wednesday evening, and at the church after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
