Born in China Nov. 25, 1999, and given to Russell and Yvonne Davis by the providence of God through adoption in Guangzhou, China, Sept. 10, 2000. Granted to us by the loving choice of an unknown Chinese couple who, rather than abort her, surrendered her to us for her adoption and care. God graced our lives by herDavispresence for six months. After a valiant battle by Emma-Li and the emergency room and pediatric intensive care staff at Greenville Memorial Hospital, she went to her home with the Lord March 24, 2001. Although we do not understand all the "why's" now, we wholly trust our Lord's decision in this matter. Oh, how we wish we could have her back, but what comfort to know she is with God Emma-Li is survived by her parents, Russell and Yvonne Davis, formerly of Greer (although the family is in preparation to relocate to Garland, Texas); a sister (also adopted in China), Brianna Renae Chun Davis; grandparents, James and Ruth Harvey of Lincoln, Kan., Russell Davis, Sr. of Homossassa, Fla., and Mary Davis of Walled Lake, Mich.; numerous aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews, all of whom by their trust in Christ as their Savior rest assured of their reuniting with Emma-Li for eternity. The services will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 8841 Augusta Road (Hwy 25 South), Pelzer, Wednesday, March 28, at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. The family can be reached at the home of Kim and Anita Hart of Simpsonville. In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage those to give to ministries that propagate the message of Christ to others. The ministry of Camp CoBeAc in Prudenville, Michigan, would be a ministry of choice as it brings the Gospel to hundreds of children and adults yearly. Interment will be held in Texas the following Saturday morning.
