ObituaryELWOOD O. "BUD" MILLERNEWFIELD, NY - Elwood O. "Bud" Miller passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at his home in Newfield, NY, after a heroic battle with cancer. He was 69.A lifelong resident of Central New Jersey, Bud is survived by his wife of 42 years, Arlene; his sister, Nancy Roberts of Whiting, NJ; his two sons, Paul of Newfield, and Glen of Charlottesville, VA; and his four beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Aspen, Kyra, and Jasmine.Bud was born in Rahway, NJ to Elwood I. and Vanetta Miller. He was an alumnus of Cranford High School and Union County Technical Institute and a veteran of the United States Army. He worked first as a draftsman, and later as a design engineer for a variety of companies including General Motors, Airco, Thomas & Betts, and KDI Triangle, all of New Jersey. Throughout his life, he was an avid fisherman, model railroader, and storyteller. Bud and Arlene moved from South Plainfield, NJ to Newfield, NY in 2004.Friends are invited to call on the family at the Bangs Funeral Home on Monday, July 25, 2005, from 5 to 7 p.m. A celebration of Bud's life will be held at the Newfield Methodist Church, 229 Main St., Newfield, on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at 10 a.m., with interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Newfield.The family would like to thank Drs. Finver, Garbo, and Brandt, and their staffs, as well as the staff and volunteers of Tompkins County Hospice, for providing an outstanding level of care and support.
